Sara Cassidy Smith
Born in Melrose, MA
Architect and Painter
AIA, LEED AP
Lives in metrowest Boston with her family.
I currently share studio space at the Umbrella in Concord, MA, and work as a Campus Planner at University of Massachusetts Lowell.
My most recent work has focused on street scapes, in which painting and architecture come together to challenge my drawing skills as well as my ability to capture color, light and the quiet beauty of everyday life. I am drawn to the patterns, abstract window reflections, graphic signage, and vibrant colors of small New England main streets.
A few years ago, I experimented with a portrait of my rescued Great Pyrenees Savannah, which led to more dog portraits for friends, and so on. Sadly, Savannah has left this world, but lives on in full color in her portrait.
